Although the Coronavirus has literally locked us in our homes, except for the occasional food shopping excursion, a litigation action can still be filed, discovery can still be conducted and negotiation to settle the case are very possible. In fact, most cases are negotiated or mediated and then resolved without ever having to go to court.

The courts are currently closed to the general public. However, the courts are staffed and are accepting filings so that disputes can be addressed and hopefully resolved. While business and life in general has been asked to step back until the Coronavirus pandemic is abated, now would be a good time to try to resolve any disputes so that when business and life resume, the issues that would normally weigh one down, could be resolved or at least on the way to resolution and would no longer be a distraction as life and business move forward.
